Since joining the team in 2021, Marine has been a driving force behind our investment theses, focusing on consumer fintech, wealthtech, climate, and ESG. Her portfolio reflects strategic engagement across various investment stages, spanning from early to growth phases. Noteworthy highlights include her pivotal role in securing funding for Conquest Planning and Tumelo during their Series A rounds, as well as her contributions to Sylvera’s Series B and Moneybox’s Series D. Before joining Fidelity Ventures, Marine honed her expertise during over four years in investment banking at Evercore in London. There, she played a key role in numerous M&A and capital market transactions within the financial institution sector. Marine, a French national, earned her Master’s degree in Finance from Grenoble Ecole de Management.

Which global fintech trend are you most excited about and why?

The rise of sustainable investing. Sustainability has turned from a nice-to-have to a must-have for companies of all shapes and sizes. There is an opportunity for fintechs to fill a new demand for data and products that optimise ESG investment decisions. With the next generation of investors seeking sustainable strategies and the support of regulators and governments, the trend is here to stay.

What is the fintech you wish you had backed and why?

Paypal, the first fintech to go global. It has revolutionized the payment industry by enabling customers and merchants to transact digitally and is widely accepted as the ideal payment platform for international transactions. Despite the increasing competition in the space, PayPal has stayed at the forefront through continuous innovation as well as strategic acquisitions. And yet the company is in some ways just starting out. With digital payments continuing to grow exponentially, the future looks bright.

Which entrepreneur would you invite to a fantasy dinner party?

Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson or Elon Musk for a dinner in the international space station - whichever one would give me a free ride!
