One Year On: Fidelity and Quantifeed's Strategic Asset Allocation Tool

Last year, Fidelity selected Quantifeed to build a cutting-edge digital tool to facilitate the design and implementation of their strategic asset allocation portfolios.

A year on, FISV sat down with Alex Ypsilanti, CEO and co-founder of Quantifeed and Salman Ahmed, Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation at Fidelity International, to hear about the tool itself, the deployment process and what's next on the roadmap for the team.

Michael Sim, Alex Ypsilanti and Salman Ahmed discuss the Fidelity and Quantifeed partnership

"It’s Fidelity IP at the ingredient level, but we want to package it together through a modern platform"

- Salman Ahmed, Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation at Fidelity International

Strategic wins

1) Efficiency Gains

Problem: The process of producing and building strategic asset allocation profiles was inefficient and time-consuming, often involving semi-manual analytics.

Solution: The goal was to automate these processes to improve efficiency, making model portfolios for clients more streamlined and accurate.

2) Governance and Transparency

Problem: Different analytics were scattered across various sub-solutions, making customisation costly and cumbersome, particularly when using tools like Excel.

Solution: A unified platform was needed to provide straightforward governance and transparency in solution building, ensuring all analytics were integrated and easily accessible.

3) User Interface

Problem: The existing tools lacked a modern user interface, leading to a subpar user experience for clients.

Solution: There was a need for a contemporary interface that offers a 21st-century user experience, enhancing client satisfaction and engagement.
